A low rating can be improved honestly, and it takes weeks, not a day.

A 3.4 on Google costs a shop jobs every week. Here is what you can do about it, what we do, and what no one honest can promise.

What a low rating does

A customer looking for a tow, a nail appointment or an exterminator sees three shops. One has 3.4 stars, two have 4.7. The decision takes seconds. Owners often find out only when a customer mentions it.

Usually the cause is a few angry reviews and silence: no replies, no new happy ones to balance them.

What you can do alone

The slow honest method works.

  1. Read every review and sort it: fair complaint, misunderstanding, or something that does not belong.
  2. Reply to each one, calmly, within a day. Thank the praise, own the real mistakes, offer to fix it offline, and never argue.
  3. Fix the cause. If three people mention waiting, change how you schedule.
  4. Ask your customers right after the job, in person, with a QR code.
  5. Report reviews that break Google's rules: spam, fake, off-topic, a competitor, or content with hate or threats.
  6. Never buy or fake reviews, and never pressure people to remove one.

What Centera sets up

For reputation repair we fix your Google profile, draft replies to your old reviews in your voice for your approval, and start the review flow that asks every customer after each job, all asked the same way, so new and real reviews keep coming in.

We also look through your reviews for ones that break Google's rules and flag them so you can submit a removal request. Google makes the decision. We never promise a review will come down.

How it works day to day

During the push you approve replies and watch new reviews arrive. After it, the same review flow keeps running: every customer gets the same request with a direct Google link and a line to you, and you are pinged right away if someone leaves a low rating.

Expect the average to move gradually, because it is a running total. Many new honest reviews lift it over weeks. Anyone who promises a quick fix is selling something you do not want. We do not write, buy or trade reviews.

Signs a review can be reported and what not to do

Google removes reviews that break its policies: spam, fake engagement, content with no connection to your business, conflict of interest, harassment, and similar. A review that is simply unfair or exaggerated usually stays. A review from someone who was never your customer may qualify if you can explain why.

We check each review against the rules, flag the ones that fit, and leave the rest alone. Submitting a request does not mean the review will come down.

Do not offer money back in exchange for a changed review. Do not argue publicly. Do not ask friends and family for five-star reviews in one afternoon, because Google can filter a sudden burst. Do not hire services that sell reviews; platforms detect them and can penalise your listing. Slow and real is what lasts.

Expect honest limits. If the problem is real, say the work was late or the price was a surprise, replies and a better process matter more than any report. We will tell you what we see in your reviews, including the parts that are your call to fix, before you decide to go ahead.

Where to start

Reply to your three most recent bad reviews today, in two calm sentences each. Then read how reviews work and Google reviews to see how asking is set up.

Questions owners ask

Can you delete a bad review?

No. Only Google can. We can flag reviews that break its rules and you submit a request, with no promise it is approved.

Do you post reviews for me?

No. Every review comes from a real customer.

How long does it take?

The push runs 30 days, but a rating moves as real reviews arrive, so allow longer.

Is it just for very low ratings?

No, but it helps most when the rating is below what your work deserves.
